Tao founded Blue Crane in the spring of 2018 in her bedroom, and now proudly calls the office HQ at Artscape Bayside work/live studio lofts in downtown Toronto, Canada. She’s had the dream of creating an agency to prioritize women, artists of color and queer and trans musicians in the North American music industry since she started her career in music in 2012.

Tao is a Board Director at Polaris Music Prize, the Canadian Live Music Association, and a Committee Member at Toronto City Hall’s Toronto Music Advisory Council for 2019-2022 (TMAC). Previously, Tao was at Chicago-based touring agency Billions, Universal Music Canada, and got her start with Carly Rae Jepsen's management and label in Vancouver, where she was born and raised. Tao was named a ‘Local Hero’ by Now Magazine in 2018 and was chosen as a Rising Star in Toronto Life Magazine's 50 Most Influential Torontonians of 2018.

When she’s not working on shows deals, she is watching music films (her fave being Prince’s Sign o The Times and Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense), listening to wellness and pop culture podcasts, and reading fiction by queer writers of colour. Tao is a gay woman of color seeking to open more doors and establish better infrastructure for marginalized artists.

Francis Arevalo, Operations Lead

Francis Arevalo is a Filipino-Canadian multi-hyphenate who is often found making something: music, ideas, food, friends, connections, infrastructure, space. As an artist, he’s known for his personal storytelling, thoughtful messages, and colourful production, creating to uplift, inspire, and energize his communities.

Years cultivating different skill-sets and perspectives position him as an invaluable resource within the music ecosystem. Whether through his roles as an artist-producer, Creative BC Music Program Coordinator, Music BC Board Director, facilitator, consultant, mental health advocate, or Blue Crane Operations Lead, the through-line is that he is committed to serving others in both music and community, and challenging the status quo in doing so. At the start of 2021, Francis soft-launched Uwido Music as a BIPOC-focused Artist Support Company to challenge the ways artists can build a team, co-creating and modelling healthier alternatives with them.

When he’s not in and around music, you’ll find Francis in a garden, on a basketball court, in a kitchen, or on a long walk outdoors. Fulfilled by community building and cultivating creativity, he is dedicated to collective growth through meaningful relationships - whether through song or conversation. He is currently living in Vancouver on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh & səl̓ilwətaʔɬ.

Camila Bellido, Tour & Marketing Coordinator

Peruvian born/Montreal raised/Toronto based, Cami knows what it’s like to adapt in multiple industries. She is a self-driven creative lead, aspiring event producer, and is working towards curating her own music festival. Her Spotify wrapped said her top music moods were energy and bold and that is how we would describe her overall aura too. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology & minor in Law and Society from Concordia University. Right after graduation, she worked as a case manager at an immigration law firm, Campbell Cohen, in downtown Montreal where specialized in the Family Reunification program preparing client’s sponsorship applications to then join the marketing team at the firm.

After nearly 5 years, she was in dire need of a rebrand and started freelancing as a social media manager for various brands in hospitality and consulting in digital marketing and advertising strategy for local artists. At the start of 2020, she joined a Music Marketing agency, Wavo, full-time where she led the Warner Records account and executed digital marketing campaigns for artists such as Isaiah Rashad, Saweetie, Freddie Gibbs, dvsn, and Majid Jordan among others. When she isn’t working, she’s having hip-hop debates, traveling the world, and eating good food with friends.

Bianca Blanche Chamberlain, Creative Designer/Marketing

Talented, creative and enterprising, Bianca Chamberlain has been making her mark on toronto's creative scene through her bold designs and unique style. During her 8 years as a graphic designer, Bianca has incorporated two design houses, Blanche Studios and Top Record Vision, and given creative oversight to numerous campaigns. Additionally, her years as a tattoo artist gives her designs a unique illustrative edge that take her merchandise creation and asset-design to another level.  You can catch Bianca doing pop-up tattoo events around Toronto or creating some fresh designs while listening to Frank Ocean on repeat.

ALUMNAE - Yvette Angela, Agency Associate

Press+shot+2.jpg

A self proclaimed music/pop culture fanatic in the Toronto music industry. Hailing from Mississauga, she began commuting (aka pestering her older brother for rides) and volunteering during music festival season in the downtown core before completing her internship at Sony Music. While blog writing and curating playlists have always been her passion, stage management quickly became one of her specialties leading to help out with several shows, including as Mr Eazi's first show in Toronto. Yvette became apart of the Manifesto team as the volunteer coordinator before founding, with her business partner, UNCDTNL Support - a company dedicated to giving platforms to underrepresented artists.

Aside from her company, Yvette offers her services as a freelancer to local artists - writing bios, fixing press kits and being a consultant to further their careers. When she isn’t working, she is watching music documentaries, begging her friends for AYCE sushi dates or pretending she isn’t working when in actuality, she is.

Yvette joined the PR world recently but will always be part of the Blue Crane family.
